Give me strength, O Lord

to chaff moments of joy in pain

to lessen others’ hurt in testing times

to find solace in goodness, unwavering uprightness

 

Give me strength, O Lord

to not break when storms lash unabated

to not forget innate values nurtured all these years

to not question Thee, come what may

 

Give me strength, O Lord

to ponder less about the tomorrows

to draw valuable lessons from pasts

to live life today with ingenuous detachment

 

Give me strength, O Lord

to realize the consequences of my action and inaction

to absorb all-embracing truth of this endless universe

to break free from cobwebs of expectations and remorse

 

Give me strength, O Lord

to hope against hope and spread shine far and beyond

to make days count worthy of full accountability later

I bow before thee for strengths all along, thence Surrender.
